A little bit of this and a little bit of that

Wow, it's been some time since I even thought about posting on the blog! We have been so busy being new parents that this has been the farthest thing from my mind. But I thought it would be okay to take a minute while the house is quiet to update all you eager folks to what has been going on in the Carney household.

First off, Marley is 7 weeks old! (tomorrow) Wow, time sure has gone by so fast that I really don't know what to do with myself. I swear time went by so slow while I was pregnant and I look back and it went by super fast (crazy how that works out). She has been an amazing addition to our family, and so excelling in everything. She has rolled over from her stomach to her back and vise verse (she hasn't mastered it but she has done it a few times to make me wish she would stop and be little a while longer. We call her our 'over-achiever') She has also started talking a lot more, and it is just so cute! She seems to smile more for daddy than anybody else which goes to show how much of a daddy's girl she is; I am so content with this fact and it just makes my love for both of them that much more.

I have started the whole 'no-fingers-in-the-mouth' discipline so it doesn't become a habit (I'm not hurting her by the way, I realize discipline sounds so harsh, I just remove her hands from her mouth and put her soothie -pacifier- in instead) and, well, she is a stubborn little gal and wont have it! And much to surprise (especially to all those who really know me) I have myself a drooler; she drools all the time and not once have I even gagged! (Huge accomplishment for me)

So anyways that has been the update for our princess as of now, I just hope she can stay little for a while longer so I can procrastinate on baby proofing the place!

We recently had all our family out and it was such a great time we got to spend with them, I truly cherished each moment I got with my in-laws and relationships blossomed! I love them all so much.

On August 4th we had the privilege to have our friends and family gather as TJ blessed our precious Marley. Those who are not of the LDS faith; a baby blessing is a blessing given by a priesthood holder (normally the father of the child or another significant priesthood holder to the family) to the baby. In this blessing the priesthood holder communicates with our Heavenly Father and asking for certain blessings for that child in their life; they are also given their name and we blessed our baby with the name of Marley Marie Carney. We gathered for a fun picnic afterwards and we really enjoyed spending that time with everyone.

Also, the dress we blessed Marley in was my blessing dress my mom made for me over 21 years ago. This was so sentimental to me and I was glad my mom still had it after all these years!

I started creating these movies that are kind of like scrap booking. For those that know me know that I really don't have too much patience for scrap booking (something I will have to work on) so I started making these movies so we can still have those memories of a scrapbook but all digital. It really is fun and time consuming so when I get a moment I can pass the time away. The songs that I chose have so much meaning to me; the first song I heard when I was in Young Women's -between 15-17- and I fell in love with it. I always wanted a little sister and was mad when I didn't get one. I realized that I could have a daughter of my own and how amazing that would be. I also played this song a for TJ a few months before Marley was born and he expressed how excited he was and how much he loved both of us. It really touched me and brought so much joy to me knowing I was creating such a wonderful miracle, I loved the song so much I listened to it while I was in labor and it brought so much peace and serenity  knowing it was going to be all worth it. And well the second song explains itself :)

(sorry for the long video there were tons of pictures!)

So, after the blessing we had a busy schedule for the next little bit. We attended two family reunions and had a blast at each. Our little Marley wasn't feeling too hot so that was a hectic few days on getting her back on her schedule and back to normal. Then lastly, I didn't want to announce this until it was set in stone, we are moving! We found a nicer place that is all in all a better environment for our family and we are truly so excited about it.

Things are going good with TJ's work, he recently got a raise and it was a true blessing since it would balance out to counter what I made when I was working so now I can be a stay at home mom full time (Which is a blessing within itself).

We sold my car and with that money we were able to fix Dora the Explorer; it is nice to have our family car and be able to have it just in time to move all our big stuff.

We have been so very grateful for all our family members and friends who have been so much help to us in every aspect of our lives and especially these past few months, we really do not have enough words to truly express our gratitude and hope that someday we can repay it to you when you are in time of need.

Well, that is pretty much the jist of our life right now, just being busy with packing and moving and living the everyday life. I really wonder how the women of the 50's did it, its such a strange transition from working all the time to being a full time stay-at-home wife and mother!
