Its the most wonderful time of the year!

Man, another month down! Crazy how time keeps on flying by; I feel that with the older age I become the faster and faster the years go by. STOP! I want my baby to be a baby for a little while....okay a lotta while! Haha.

Marley turned 5 months old today! It is incredible at what a little lady she is and how strong she is. A sister was sitting by us and has a daughter six days older than Marley and was mentioning how strong she is holding herself the way she was (sitting up and the upper body strength) and how her daughter wasn't even fully doing the things Marley was doing all by herself. I guess I create macho babies because I always thought we were right on track with her development...I guess we are ahead. Even her pediatrician always comments on how strong she is! (Its all that dreaded tummy time she has. Give TJ the credit because I hated doing it to her and listening to her cry)

Everything is going great in this household. We are beginning to get ready for the holidays and it is particularly nice having a little munchkin around the make the holidays more warm and loving. Thanksgiving was great, we decided we wanted to start our own Thanksgiving traditions starting with eating a whole pie to ourselves....note to all: It wasn't as fun as we thought it was going to be. I know it makes us sound like fatty's but we couldn't even go half way, we felt so sick!

I never did the '30 days of gratefulness' because I am terrible at being repetitive and forgetful. So here goes my schpeel. I am grateful for my family, near and far. They are so wonderful and do so much for me and I don't think I can ever repay them in how much gratitude I have for them because it goes on forever how much I care and love each one. For loving talks I have with my grandma to enjoying laughs with all my sisters I have now. I am most importantly grateful for the man who gives me my every want and need. What he does for our family is incredible, working all day so I can stay home with our daughter and then proceed to come home and care for me. The way he is with Marley is remarkable and I don't know what I would do without him. He really is the love of my life and I am so grateful to have him forever and beyond.

Enough of that smushy stuff. We are doing so great here! TJ had the first experience at paint ball. I was excited (as bad as it sounds) for him to get shot and have paintball wounds because I always talk about how painful it is for the first few minutes and having these welts on your body. Yeah, its like he is super human shield towards getting hit apparently because he would get hit like twice and it didn't even rupture or hit him. Its that Carney skin and blood he has...makes him super human (which is a good thing in my book). Marley and I have been having so much fun here at home while TJ is working. We like to sing and dance, and basically do everything together! She will sit in the bumbo and watch me cook and we turn on the music and dance and sing at the top of our lungs! She gets a kick out of it because she gets all happy and smiley when we start up the tunes.

Her doctor says she has a terrible but curable disease. Its called "Only Child Syndrome" and will soon be cured with us having another baby but she is sure enjoying the time she gets with us and that meaning she likes to be the center of attention and always being up with us. She will only cry if she is on the floor and we are in the other room where she cannot see us.

Marley Milestones: She is quiet the talker, which is all good until it comes to church and likes to talk a little too much. ;) She makes Indian noises and loves when we do them to her, at first she would just eat our fingers and stop making the noises (ahhhhh noises to clarify) but now when we put our fingers on her mouth she begins to make the sounds and continues til she gets bored of it or we stop. She is also learning to blow bubbles and gets them all over her face like a bubble beard...it is so cute and then I see how wet she is and cannot help but laughing. What a hoot she is! Still a happy happy baby, I swear she is sleeping like a teenager. She goes to bed around 8 or 9 and sleeps til 6 or 7 then heads back to bed until 9 or 10 if I let her. I realize because of her sleep schedule I am in no hurry wanting to wake up a ton for a newborn. Maybe this is Marley's way of saying she wants to be an only child for a longer time, haha. She has become interested in toys now and really the only toy she likes is her noisy book (sounds like crumbled paper of some sort...anyways its loud!) which we have learned is not a good church toy but it is the only thing that keeps her quiet. We are trying a few other toys out but they are not that much quieter. She is also such a squiggle worm, moving ALL the time and when we hold her in our laps she likes to squiggle until she can head-butt us. Its hysterical if its not you being head-butted or up until you get the head-butting.

Anyways, here are some pictures of our life recently:

I love how she is holding onto her blanket..TJ said she has the perfect layout of a crime scene body...creep.

So she has learned about her fingers and what they do. She will randomly touch her head with her index finger and then pull the bow into her eyes...its become a normal thing for her to have her bow in her eyes.

Chillin' in one of her favorite spots

She was for daddy growing out a beard and decided to go for moral support with a bubble beard!

More of the bow in her eyes...

We went to Miracle on 25th street in Ogden to kick off the Christmas season and lighting of the downtown lights. It was an alright parade until this walked by and it made my entire night! I couldn't get better pictures since majority of them were on the other side of the street. They were fun but had really no point of being in the parade which I think made it that much better in my opinion!

Now on to the favorite part of the blog today: TJ's beard!

This was his entire month of beard growing, not much there but I LOVED it!
 He found his razor!
And time to shave the beard off :'(
It was a sad moment for me because I really loved it.

The aftermath! I still love his baby face as well, seriously looks like he is 20!

Marley's normal place of residency. She loves it up there and is always so happy when placed on daddy's shoulders :)

Our happy little 5 month old; I cannot believe how fast time has gone by. And what a little flirt she has become, seriously we are in trouble!
Sitting all the way up straight and tall. Oh goodness I love her so much!

This is the face of getting everything she wants, a little pout and a little smirk and boom! Melts your heart. In this case she was wanting to stop pictures and be picked up so she could see outside and be up with us. Social butterfly!
We decorated the Christmas tree and put the tree on to celebrate the beginning of December
Our celebratory meal! Cornish Game Hens and potatoes with EGG NOG in fancy glasses with our fancy coasters!

Until next time!

The Hairiest Month of the Year!

I can't believe it, it is already becoming the end of 2013. 2014 is on the brink and I swear looking back at the year its gone by so fast, unbelievable!

So, lets take a look at what has been happening this past month:

  • Marley celebrated her 4th month of being in our family :)

And we have noticed that she really is high maintenance.

What a cool cat!

  • Halloween happened:

Marley was Princess Leia this year. What a cutie she is!

TJ and I were going to go as Darth Vader and Queen Amidala but we couldn't find costumes in time. So I decided to go as Harry Potter after drinking Polly juice potion and TJ was a sociopath...haha just kidding, he went as a werewolf awaiting a full moon.

See: he did such a great job with his costume. It literally took zero effort at all!

  • Marley was such a good trooper and allowed us to pierce her ears so I won't have to deal with taking her later on in life. I can imagine my experience all over again....nope not gonna happen!

  • TJ got his hand smashed under my moms car; luckily there was no damage done to his hand, we count our lucky stars and thank goodness for his Carney blood. He didn't cry, he sat there and took it like a champ...or sat there patiently and tried to keep ME calm, what a man I have :)
  • And a trip to Rexburg for the blessing of our cute little nephew Benji! We even had some family photo's taken so we could put more pictures on our wall!

These two became best pals!

So that has basically been the extent of our month. Super long and short at the same time; TJ has been really busy with work and that unfortunately makes time go by slower but we are so appreciative of all the hours he spends at work to support us!

No shave November is upon us and TJ is not very happy...I hid his razor so he has to participate! HAHAHAHA what an evil wife I am ;) But he told me if he can't shave I can't take any pictures of him until he can. Luckily I can watch him while he sleeps and snap some then ;) But all the pictures we ever take no days are of Marley so it really doesn't bother me...looks like TJ is going to be one hairy guy! (I will get one of him before he shaves it all off, though)

Marley Milestones: She laughs! Its not fully there but she is getting better at it and we love listening and getting those precious laughs out of her. She smiles A TON! She recognizes who mommy and daddy are and smiles at us all the time, but she loves staring and smiling at her daddy :)

My two hero's

Conversations and nursing have become a hoot; she likes to know what is happening all the time. If she is nursing and I start talking she will stop, look up at me, watch me talk, and smile. Then when I stop she goes back to eating ;) little nosy girl!

But that is about it for this month. She is almost sitting up but doesn't really get it yet...that's okay, just another sign I get to keep my little girl, little for a while longer! :)

Until next time!

A dress I made for my Marzy pants ;)

Here's to three months!

Holy cow! Three months have gone by like the wind! I seriously cannot believe our little munchkin is growing into such a beautiful happy princess. What a blessing she has been in our lives and we adore her so much. We often stare at her in awe at what we created. How are we so blessed? I am so glad Heavenly Father has entrusted us with one of His children; I just hope I can teach her all that I am able to and have her become a wonderful mother someday (Like in 25 years! Haha)

Speaking of teaching; as many of you know I LOVE skating. Now there is a difference between Roller BLADING and Roller SKATING. Its all in the wheels. (*Its all in the hips* haha, sorry that song came to mind when I typed that) So, my wonderful and talented mother-in-law made Marley a little Roller Derby outfit to match her Mama. I would have joined in the picture but she had all the cuteness covered on her own ;)

I decided to start popping out some 3-6 month clothing and it was to my joy that they are still a little lot too big for her; so I get to put her in her 0-3 month clothing a little longer. But it does make me sad when something doesn't fit her but also some excitement if I have cute outfits that are bigger. She has TONS of darling clothes, its so hard not to play barbie and dress her in all her outfits all day!

These are for Grandma (Leslie) Carney  (it really is weird referring your own parents as grandparents)
Anybody who has children, I give you props. How you get your children to hold still during a picture is beyond me. Though she is an active three month old girl so I can't really hold it against her, but seriously, all those photographers who capture such GREAT photos of infants have a ton more patience than I do!

Her full blown derby girl outfit! LOVE!

 Glazed over from milk!

 Seriously, she melts my heart
I tried getting a shot of her hat. It really is so cute and the picture cannot do it justice

 Mommy and Me skates

So much detail and hard work put into these little skates. One word: Adorb!

I never realized though, how much children change your life, I went ahead and said goodbye to sleeping in or going to bed when you are tired, or running into this place real quick and leave the car running for a second, or carrying in all the groceries at once...yeah I am now one of those "pansy's" who have to make multiple trips ;) So if you are thinking about a baby....might as well read up on the things that will never be the same. Haha I am just kidding, you should not base your child bearing on my silly list. Mater of fact, procreate all you want. You have my blessing :)

Marley Milestones: She is *this* close to sitting up on her own. She isn't too much of a fan of the Bumbo and when I put her in it she twists and turns so its not really helping her learn to sit right, haha. She is becoming more alert and recognizes her name, she will look at you when you talk to her and her responses are amazing. I wish I captured a video of her and TJ having a conversation, she was being really quiet with me and TJ walked in the room and started talking to her and BAM full blown conversations. She is such a daddy's girl. I cannot say it enough, she loves him so much! (And visa versa)
The other night we were playing super hero and she-as you all know from previous blog- is a drooler. She happened to get a drool string in.my.mouth. Luckily she is mine and cute because I wouldn't laugh if it weren't my child, but she kinda giggled with us and we tried getting her to do it again but I think she knew we had a camera watching her and she decided to go all shy on us. :( Maybe next time.

My goodness, she is such a good sleeper! She has been sick-ish the past few days and wants to be held and snuggled so much (my first clue she was not feeling to hot-no pun intended- she doesn't like to cuddle a lot.) She was having a hard time sleeping during the day and would only take a 15-30 minute nap. I thought for sure I would be up all night with her, but surprisingly she has started sleeping from 9 or 10-5 o'clock! And she is feeling better now but the real bonus is she is still sleeping all night til 5-ish! I used to be so tired from getting up at 2-3 and then 5-7. Funny thing is now she is sleeping all night I am more tired than I was when she gets up more during the night!

Like mother, like daughter; I have a stubborn princess. Who likes to suck her fingers. I try so hard to get those fingers out of her mouth by substituting with a soothie, or her baby (Bear blanket) that nothing works. So, I know one good thing from this is she will be such a fighter and determined to do anything she thinks of...though I know I am in so much trouble! (I know TJ was a very mischievous kid and could sneak his way around anything. Which is going to make disciplining difficult if she has his sense of humor/personality)

Well that is all, until next time!
